How VIP CV works
VIP CV helps you tailor your CV to a specific job ad. You can create or import a base CV, paste the job ad, see your match score and create a job-specific version ready to export.
Your base CV stays intact. AI can help with wording and prioritization, but it should not invent experience, education, certifications or skills.
What is VIP CV?
VIP CV is a Swedish-built, AI-supported CV tool for job seekers. It is built for people who want to understand how their CV matches a job ad and create a clearer version for that specific role.
You can create a CV online, import an existing CV, save job ads, see your match score, create job-specific CV versions and export your CV as a PDF.
The goal is not to do the job for you. The goal is to give you better overview, better structure and clearer wording when you apply for jobs.
The difference from a regular CV template
A CV template mainly helps with layout and structure. That is useful, but it does not solve the whole problem.
When you apply for a job, you also need to show why your experience is relevant for that specific role. VIP CV helps you do more than choose a layout. You can compare your CV with the job ad, see which requirements are already visible and create a separate version for the application.
That makes VIP CV useful when you apply for several jobs and want to tailor each application without starting from scratch every time.
The flow
1. Create or import your CV
You start with a base CV. This can be a CV you create directly in VIP CV, or a CV you already have and import.
Your base CV contains your experience, education, skills, contact details and other information you want to use when applying for jobs.
2. Paste the job ad
Next, you add the job ad for the role you want to apply for.
VIP CV reads the ad and identifies important signals, such as requirements, skills, experience, languages, tools and recurring keywords.
The purpose is to make the job ad easier to understand and easier to compare with your CV.
3. See your match score
Once the job ad is added, VIP CV can show a match score.
The match score shows how well your CV matches the signals in the job ad. It is a guide to help you find matches and gaps, not a rating of you as a candidate.
A low match score does not automatically mean that you are not a good fit for the role. Sometimes the experience is in your CV, but written in a different way than in the ad. Sometimes a keyword is missing. Sometimes relevant experience needs to be made clearer.
The match score is not controlled by AI and only changes when the CV or the job ad changes.
4. Create a job-specific CV version
When you want to tailor your CV to the role, VIP CV can create a job-specific version.
That version is based on your base CV and the job ad. AI can help rewrite, prioritize and highlight relevant information, but it should not add unsupported facts.
Examples of what can be improved:
- relevant experience can be highlighted more clearly
- the summary can be adapted to the role
- wording can become more concrete
- skills already present in your CV can be prioritized better
- less relevant information can take up less space
5. Review and edit
VIP CV should help you, not take over.
When a job-specific version has been created, you should review the content before using it. You can change, remove and adjust wording.
This matters because you are responsible for making sure that what you send is true. AI can help with language and structure, but you should always check that the version reflects your actual experience.
6. Export an ATS-friendly PDF
When you are happy with the version, you can export your CV as a PDF.
ATS-friendly means that the CV is clear, text-based and easier for recruitment systems to read. It is not a guarantee of an interview, but it reduces the risk that important information becomes hard to find.
The goal is simple: relevant information should be easy to read for both systems and people.
In that way, VIP CV works as an ATS-friendly CV tool, without promising that every system or employer will make the same assessment.
Afterward: track the job in your job board
VIP CV also helps you keep track of the jobs you are interested in.
You can save jobs, create CV versions for different roles and follow where you are in the process. This helps you avoid mixing up job ads, CV versions and applications.
It is especially useful if you are applying for several jobs at the same time.
What AI does and does not do
AI is used to help with wording, prioritization and tailoring to a specific job ad. That means you can write your CV with AI support, without AI taking over or adding unsupported facts.
AI can help you:
- write a clearer summary
- highlight relevant experience
- adapt the language to the role
- make the text more concrete
- suggest which parts should be prioritized
But AI should not invent new facts.
That means AI should not add:
- employers you have not worked for
- roles you have not had
- education you have not completed
- certifications you do not have
- language levels that are not true
- technologies or skills that are not supported
- results or responsibilities that are not in your CV
If something is not in your CV or has not been confirmed by you, it should not be added to a job-specific version.
What the match score means
The match score is guidance. It shows how well your CV matches the signals in the job ad.
It can help you understand:
- which requirements are already clearly visible in your CV
- which parts may need to be clarified
- which skills are requested in the job ad
- whether your CV uses different wording than the job ad
- whether a job-specific version can make the application clearer
The match score is not an AI rating. It is not a decision about whether you are qualified. It is not affected by AI-generated wording.
Use it as support for making your application clearer.
What happens to your base CV?
Your base CV is the original version you start from.
When you create a job-specific version, VIP CV creates a separate version for that role. Your base CV remains in place.
That means you can have one base CV and several versions for different jobs. Each version can be tailored to its job ad without losing your starting point.
This makes it easier to stay consistent while applying for different types of roles.
Data, privacy and control
Your CVs and jobs are stored in your account. VIP CV does not sell personal data and does not share your documents with employers unless you choose to do so yourself.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a finished CV to start?
No. You can create a new CV directly in VIP CV or import a CV you already have. If you already have a CV, it is faster to get started, but you do not need a perfect version from the beginning.
Which file formats can I import?
VIP CV is built to import common CV formats such as PDF and DOCX. After import, you can review the content and adjust it in the editor.
What happens if the match score is low?
A low match score does not automatically mean that you are not a good fit for the job. It may mean that your CV is missing some words from the job ad, that relevant experience is not clearly worded, or that the role requires things that are not in your CV.
Use the match score as guidance, not as a decision.
Can VIP CV invent experience?
No. VIP CV should only use information from your CV and the job ad, or information you have confirmed yourself. AI can help rewrite and prioritize, but it should not add experience, education, certifications or skills without support.
What happens if AI finds nothing meaningful to improve?
VIP CV should be clear about that. Sometimes there is nothing meaningful to tailor for a specific job ad. That is better than creating changes just for the sake of it.
Is an ATS-friendly CV a guarantee?
No. ATS-friendly means that the CV is clear, text-based and easier for recruitment systems to read. It is not a guarantee of an interview or employment.
What happens if I want to stop using VIP CV?
You can delete individual CVs, jobs and your account directly in the app. When the account is deleted, VIP CV removes your account and connected data according to the privacy policy.
